West Sussex council invests in Maxa products

Storrington Library reopening after the installation of Maxa heat pumps.

The UK has long been at the forefront of decarbonisation and is still aiming for net zero emissions by 2050. To help with achieving that aim, West Sussex council has recently invested £8.2million on renewable energy products for its public buildings, amongst which are a number of Maxa heat pumps.

In an article on the BBC website, councillors state that they hope to reduce their carbon emissions by 200 tonnes per year. Old gas boilers have been replaced with the incredibly efficient Maxa heat pumps as well installing solar panels and improving insulation.

In the article, Deborah Urquhart, cabinet member for environment and climate change, said: “Storrington Library, with its two [Maxa] air source heat pumps and solar panels, is now capable of running entirely on renewable energy.

“This saves more than 12 tonnes of carbon from being released into the atmosphere each year, the equivalent of driving from Chichester to Horsham 1,200 times in an average petrol car.

We are delighted West Sussex County Council have chosen Maxa heat pumps and look forward to working with other councils who wish to make the same investment into green energy solutions.
